THIS WORKING GROUP IS A PART OF THE SCHOOL OF THE APOCALYPSE‘S CURRENT QUARTERLY SESSIONS (proposed by Esther Neff/PPL)
This group meets every Tuesday evening (7pm-) at PPL (104 Meserole Street, Brooklyn) starting Tuesday, November 7. To participate, please drop in or sign up here (formal participation sign-ups end October 30 but people are still welcome to join the group).
This group will devise interactive methods, including: 1.) interview and focus group processes 2.) relational and discursive performances 3.) performative experiments and 4.) written texts, diagrams, and “living text-acts” towards generation of intuitive and experimental philosophy extant outside of academia. The group will collaborate to design our own situational blend of the-ater (site for sight), the-ory (formalized ways of seeing), and the-ology (seeing our own beliefs and those of others), conceptualizing philosophy as something performed between persons.
(Note: the title of this working group is drawn from 1.) a quote by Donna Haraway 2.) Fred Moten’s notion of an “undercommons.” This working group is NOT a reading group but a practical, collective ideation process, however some interest in philosophy, cultural theory, political theory, and/or performance/performativity is helpful)
